Fresh Roots Farm, a 5-acre farm in Polson, MT, produces certified organic vegetables, fruits, and seeds. They received a $3,725 grant to convert their Allis Chalmers G fossil-fuel tractor to 48v electric.

They were able to complete their tractor conversion in May and use it for cultivation throughout the season. Owner Karl Sutton told us, β€œWe found that the electric ACG tractor reduced hand labor in the lettuce seed crop by about 66%.” They were also able to showcase the tractor at a local farmer gathering, as well as in an article in the Alternative Energy Resources Organization quarterly online magazine.
