Create Community Through Giving
The idea of Giving Tuesday started back in 2012. The idea was launched as a direct response to the growing commercialism of the end-of-year holiday season. In a direct counterpoint to the Black Friday and then Cyber Monday sales, Giving Tuesday encourages people to think about how to give to others rather than consumerism. This November 28th, join the movement and give – whether itโs some of your time, a donation, gift or the power of your voice in your local community.
Thisย #GivingTuesday, consider giving to ourย #SmallFarmsBigImpacts2017 campaign! Our grantee sustainability projects are making large positive impacts on the environment, local food systems, and farm diversity.
Giving Tuesday & Funding The Community
As you probably already know, The FruitGuys Community Fund focuses on helping small and independent farms all across the U.S. Small family farms need our help to improve their environmental and economic sustainability. The FruitGuys Community Fund is unique in that we provide small grants (typically between $2,000 – $5,000) that have big impacts for farms. You can see our grants in action, seeing how local growers use much-needed funds to invest in projects like irrigation, soil management and pollinator support (beehives).
So this Giving Tuesday we ask for your financial support. Monies directly fund projects that preserve America’s independent and family-run farms.
