Thank you for your interest in applying. Our 2024 application is now closed. Please check back for updates on our 2025 grant cycle

Eligibility

  • U.S. farms only; grants range from $2,000-$5,000.
  • Applicant must be farm owner/operator or have long-term, legal land access (leased land requires landowner support letter with lease length).

  • Farm must be active for at least 2 years and small to medium-sized (max. 250 acres in production).
  • Provide project details, budget, and timeline.
  • We welcome farms to re-apply for the same project or a different one if you have not been funded in an earlier grant cycle.

Ineligible For Funding

  • Non-U.S. farms, hydro/aquaponic systems, land purchases, labor, consultants, administrative costs, general marketing, or projects relying on larger grants.
  • Farms or farmers that have previously received a FGCF grant are not eligible.

Preferences for 2025
We prioritize projects that promote sustainable practices and community impact. Review our Farming Manifesto and past Alumni Projects for examples of winning proposals.

Grant Opportunities for BIPOC-Led Farms in 2025: Thanks to ongoing support from sponsor Aramark, over $45,000 in funds (~half the total grant awards) will be available for majority BIPOC-led agricultural nonprofits. These organizations will be required to provide their current 501-c3 tax-exempt status and board of directors as part of the application process.
