Welcome 2024 grantee Tuba Farm Foundation Inc! ๐ŸŒŸ @tubafarm_cc is a women and BIPOC-led agricultural non-profit farm in New Jersey created to promote food sovereignty, reduce food insecurity and waste. Welcome 2024 grantee TNR Hills! A 13-acre women Welcome 2024 grantee TNR Hills! A 13-acre women and family-owned and operated sustainable farm in Kansas City. It specializes in cultivating a variety of crops through regenerative agricultural growing practices. With their grant they will build a self-service, solar-powered refrigerated farm stand in order to provide consistent access to fresh, affordable food for customers. Welcome 2024 grantee Refugee & Immigrant Self-Empo Welcome 2024 grantee Refugee & Immigrant Self-Empowerment (RISE) Community Farm! ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŸ @syrap_rise is a 180-acre agricultural non-profit, community-based farm located in Syracuse, New York, that serves as a resource for immigrants and refugees who are interested in farming. Their mission engages and employs young people on the land; shares resources with emerging, primarily BIPOC farmers; and helps make healthy food accessible to San Francisco Bay Area communities. ๐Ÿคฒโค๏ธ With a $2,135 grant, they will create compost bins, install a drip irrigation system, and a pollinator hedgerow. ๐ŸŒŸ Learn more at the link in our bio!
Welcome 2024 grantee Mountain Echoes Farm/Soil Hue Welcome 2024 grantee Mountain Echoes Farm/Soil Hued Mojo๐ŸŒŸ @soilhuedmojo is a 20-acre, women-of-color and family-owned farm in Mathias, West Virginia, that grows medicinal maternal health herbs using Afro-Indigenous farming practices and creates small-batch products that support BIPOC and other vulnerable individuals. ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿคฒ With a $3,097 grant they will purchase a hoop house, build a solar dehydrator, and add two beehives. ๐ŸŒฑ Learn more at the link in our bio.
Welcome 2024 grantee Lone Star Olive Ranch! ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ An 80-acre, women-owned and operated sustainable farm and olive orchard located in Madisonville, Texas. In 2021, Winter Storm Uri damaged 14,000 of its olive trees. Lone Star has been hard at work since, planting new olive saplings and diversifying its farm with the addition of new crops.ย ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒพ With a $4,751 grant, they will expand their sustainable farming practices by planting heirloom varieties of fruit trees and plants, and adding two beehives. ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ Learn more at the link in our bio!
Meet 2024 grantee @lafincadehamberto a 28-acre non Meet 2024 grantee @lafincadehamberto a 28-acre non-profit, BIPOC-led farm located in Vieques, an island off of Puerto Rico. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’› La Finca de Hamberto is working to rebuild a community of farmers and ranchers to establish a sustainable and resilient island community. ๐Ÿ’ช With a $5,000 grant, they will install a caterpillar-style grow tunnel to increase their capacity to cultivate high-demand crops throughout the season. It grows about 150 varieties of vegetables, which they sell at affordable prices at a weekly farm stand and other local markets during the growing season. Welcome 2024 grantee Growing Communities Inc./ Cro Welcome 2024 grantee Growing Communities Inc./ Crop Swap LA! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‘ @lacropswap is a majority BIPOC-and-women-led agricultural non-profit organization that operates micro farms in the urban neighborhoods of Leimert Park and Crenshaw in Southern Los Angeles, CA. Crop Swap LA is transforming underutilized spaces for efficient food production using rainwater harvesting and sustainable farming practices to bring food access, environmental, and economic benefits to local residents. With a $5,000 grant they will develop a new micro farm site that will allow them to increase the amount of food distributed across the 75 families currently on the organizationโ€™s member list.ย  Learn more at the link in our bio!

Their primary crops are medicinal and culinary herbs that are distributed through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. With their grant, they will assemble an ergonomic post-harvest wash table, install drip irrigation to water crops efficiently, and buy a variety of flower and cover crop seed to attract pollinators and build soil health. The funds will be used to purchase 51 native trees, 200 native shrubs, 100 native perennials, and five pounds of wildflower seed mix from their local native plant nursery. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒธ
